contentment

contentment....the art of being content ...content.....Desiring no more than what one has; satisfied....but how many of us have mastered this art...how many are trully content with thier life....i started thinking about this topic after i read a friends status message on facebook....the status was simply insinuating that people with regular JOB will never get rich....and this person was pissed that most people really did not want to get rich because they have a JOB....but the question is can being rich buy you happiness...scracth that (too cliche even for me)...does being rich equal to being content....or does being content mean that one is mediocre....the fact remains that man is selfish and greedy...its imbibed in our nature and contentment is simply not a part of our DNA...I believe that there are poeple who say they are content....but lets look at the definition a little bit closer....being content means desiring no more.....man will always desire more...we want more knowledge, more money, more gadgets, more beautiful things and clothes, more expensive trips, more lovers, more...contentment simply is not in existence especially in the current time when mankind is being bombarded with a culture of beauty and consumerism...this leads me to my last question....does being happy mean that one is content....or do they even relate...again just a thought
